Magnus Health Editor’s Rating:

For the plan with the most options, pricing for Magnus Health starts at $15/month. Potential users should compare this with the multitude of PHR options available before committing to this product.

MedDataNet Editor’s Rating:

Limited to users with MedData products, this “free” PHR has network accessing fees attached. Users should fully explore pricing prior to purchase. Software appears to be easy to use based on tutorial test, but full exploration is not available without purchase.

Medefile Editor’s Rating:

While Medefile offers several features, the price may be prohibitive for many users. Many options exist and if users do not require some of the more advanced features, they may consider looking elsewhere. Potential users should explore the site fully as well as other comparable services.

MedFlash Editor’s Rating:

MedFlash is a combination online/USB based personal health record management tool. The cost is excessive if the plan is being utilized by a family as each member requires an individual USB and membership. While the keychain USB is convenient, it could be easily misplaced.

MedicAlert Editor’s Rating:

An easy-to-use system that is hugely popular, MedicAlert is a one stop solution for all your personal health record management needs. Being an online service and providing services globally, MedicAlert guarantees that you will never remain out of touch with your medical information. Even though it is not supported by Microsoft’s Health Vault or by Google Health, MedicAlert supports electronic drug prescriptions and other PHRs by providing advanced integration with them.

Medical ID Card Editor’s Rating:

Medical ID Card provides members with the ability to condense critical medical information into a form that may be folded and carried in a wallet. The form is limited, so information is by not means thorough. There are no other services available through the site.

MediCompass.com Editor’s Rating:

Medicompass.com is an online service that allows members to enter, manage, and track health issues. Users can also message their health providers, receive reminders, and access health content. Individuals must be referred by a healthcare agency or provider for membership.

MediConnect Global Editor’s Rating:

MediConnect Global is a service for lawyers, insurance brokers, underwriters, and individuals to obtain copies of medical records from multiple providers. Rates are not clearly stated. Signup is free, but a credit card is required to obtain records.

MediKeeper.com Editor’s Rating:

MediKeeper.com offers multiple tools for health and wellness. The 45 day free trial allows users to decide whether this fee-based service is worth the eventual investment of $19.95-$49.95/year.

Med InfoChip Editor’s Rating:

Med InfoChip is a USB drive with personal health record software installed. Users update records on the USB and can upload scans of other documents. Some of the screenshots imply that the software may be visually busy, but easy to use.

MedKey Editor’s Rating:

This is a brand new product on the market. The website is unfinished and demos of all areas are not available or are improperly linked. Those looking for a portable flash drive PHR may want to wait until more products are available and the efficacy of the product is ensured.

MedNotice Editor’s Rating:

MedNotice is a very basic free service for members to upload one document: advance directive. Members must renew file space annually or documents will expire and be deleted. Printable cards are available in case of emergency so that directives may be accessed. No other information is stored on site.

Med Records to Go Editor’s Rating:

Med Records to Go is a mid-priced USB drive containing medical record software. There is no Internet backup for data. Cell phone may be tied into medical records as well. Files may be password protected if user desires.

Medsfile.com Editor’s Rating:

Medsfile.com is a free PHR that seems easy to use. This is a very new PHR, so there may be bugs to be worked through.

MedSum Editor’s Rating:

MedSum does not offer any extraordinary features to justify the cost of the plans. Users cannot try out the interface prior to purchase. Features are similar to free plans available on the Internet.
