Active Health Management
Pros: The MyActiveHealth personal health record solution
may be provided through a health plan or employer. If not provided through
a health plan or employer, MyActiveHealth is available for individuals at
a reasonable cost of $6.95 per year with a 90 day free trial. The app connects
to Microsoft Health Vault.
Cons: The site is initially intimidating with a revving
sound of the “CareEngine” and spinning graphic. This PHR is only free to
those who have cooperating health plans or employers. Individuals may join,
but will incur a fee. Some content loads very slowly.
The Bottomline: This PHR is not intuitive in all areas.
During review, reviewer was unable to find any way to enter current medication
list. This is one of the basic elements of a PHR and should be easy to find
and complete. Other areas were similarly inaccessible. *This review is based
on the individual membership plan.

Summary:
Active Health Management has a number of solutions for members as well as
physicians. The PHR portion of this program is MyActiveHealth.

Features:
____________________________________________________________
Health Record
During review, from the dashboard screen, the first action made was an attempt
to begin adding medications, but when that choice was clicked, there was
no option for doing so. As the app had indicated that it worked better in
Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, the reviewer tried both of those browsers.
Again, there was no way to add a medication. Returning to Health Record
listings, the same result occurred when trying to enter medications from
the Health Summary page. The only offerings on that page were questions
to take to your doctor and the ability to add allergies.
Continuing through the Health Record, there was no way for a member to enter
tests and procedures, though conditions and lifestyle options worked. Again,
there was no ability to enter immunizations in that section, family history,
or health care team.
Health Assessment
Listed third of the 6 options, the Health Assessment seemed as though it
might be the answer to the problem of entering information.
The app indicates how many questions are in each section, but more are generated
if certain answers are given. Completing the Assessment still did not allow
the reviewer to enter medications.
Resources
There are a variety of resources available to find healthy recipes, look
up medications, print forms, print or download the health record and more.
