Medefile

Pros: Membership with MedeFile gives you access to many services for storing of personal health records (PHRs) plus useful tools designed to facilitate healthcare management. All you have to do is to create a MedeFile and enter pertinent information regarding your medical history – hospitals, doctors, medical conditions, past and current medications, and so on – into the user-friendly system. From there, MedeFile will gather and process all of your records like lab results and consultation records then convert them into digital images. Using special software, MedeFile sorts your records based on date, record type, provider, or by your category of choice so that you and other people you authorize can find your medical data quickly and effortlessly.

Cons: Unlike other companies that provide their services for free, MedeFile charges users with monthly fees. MedeFile’s Basic Plan costs $8.50 monthly while its Premium Plan starts at $21 monthly. Special features like the MedeMinder, Concierge Service, and Extra MedeDrive come with add-on charges that will drive up your monthly costs. MedeFile also provides no trial period so users can’t test whether they’re comfortable with the interface.

The Bottomline: While MedeFile offers many useful features with its plans, the price may be a turn-off for users. There are other options out there so if you feel that you won’t be able to use their more advanced features, then you should consider looking elsewhere.

Summary:
Medefile is a fee-based PHR management services that offers many add-on feature to users. However, there is no free trial period so the usability can’t be determined. There is an online tour though, but it does little to inform potential clients of what MedeFile can do for them. But based on the website, MedeFile compiles and digitizes information from the patient’s different healthcare providers and organizes them based on the user’s preferred arrangement.
