Med-ID Card
Pros: Medical ID Card lets users create a medical identification
card to be used during emergency situations for free. The medical ID contains
potentially life-saving and critical information for treatment. Members
can create as many accounts or print out as many cards as they like. Cards
can be easily re-sized. Card information and the accompanying website can
be set into French, English, German, Spanish or Italian.
Cons: The Sign-up process is complicated for a simple card
printing site. While interested members are only asked for their username
and email addresses to register, account activation takes multiple steps
to complete. The steps are rather unnecessary. The medical ID/chart design
is elementary-looking; one could easily create the same using MS word. The
card allots the most amount of space for the patient’s medication information
and limits space for emergency contacts, allergies, and physician information.
Many important details, such as lab tests, are left out.
The Bottomline: The Medical ID Card provides members a
free means to having their own medical ID. The card condenses critical health
information into a wallet-sized and ultra-portable form. It offers a very
simple design and covers mostly medication information. While easy to navigate,
the card can be created just as well with the use of MS Word. People looking
for a more comprehensive, more professional-looking Medical ID have to review
other portable PHR options.

Summary:
The Medical ID Card is a free
online service for creating a medical ID. The ID can be printed out for
free, too. The card carries medical information that may be used to provide
the most appropriate care and treatment during an emergency situation. The
patient can also use it to avoid taking wrong medications. At best, the
Medical ID Card provides patients a means to keep track and store all of
their medication information in one secure place. Although it also lets
patients store information regarding their blood analysis results and current
medical conditions, the site is very limited in the amount of medical information
it covers.

Features:
____________________________________________________________
Simple Design
Basically, the Medical ID Card features a simple table with generous spaces
for medication information – the medicines currently taken, indications
and directions. Above the table are spaces for basic personal information,
emergency contact numbers, physician information, allergies, blood type,
as well as a username password.
User-friendly Interface
After the user has completed the activation process, s/he is immediately
directed to the card creation page. The sign up information is already entered;
the user only needs to add a phone number, emergency contacts, etc.
Multilingual
Users can choose what language to use on their card. This is useful for
international patients or for people traveling to international destinations
that speak those languages.

Online Medication Record Table
Medical ID Card is designed to aid emergency care providers in giving the
right treatment to individuals. The table is divided into three categories:
medication, directions and indications. Users can also use this feature
as reminder. Using the table as a guide, members can avoid fatal mistakes
caused by taking the wrong medication.
