Pros: LifeOnKey (LOK) provides a Total Health Planner which provides tools for creating a health profile for personal health record management. LOK provides specialized plans for diabetics, girls and women, and pregnant women and special features to enhance site use. Data is safe and securely stored.

Cons: Several plans are available, all at significant cost. Individual plans start at $39.95 USD for one year. Additional family members incur additional fees. Premier plans begin at $300. There is also a $4.95 registration fee. These plans are incredibly expensive.

The Bottomline: There are many plans and upcoming options on LifeOnKey, but all are quite costly. With the plethora of low cost and free PHRs, potential users should consider all options. There is no free trial option for users to test out the interface prior to investing in one of the available plans.

Total Health Planner
The Total Health Planner is the basic plan offered by LifeOnKey. It offers the ability to import data from healthcare providers, labs, and other external sources. Tools for creating an Interactive Family Tree are included. The ability to translate health information into multiple languages is convenient for international travelers. The cost for this plan is $39.95.

Lifecycle Series for Girls to Women™
This PHR includes a 12 month plan for the mother and 6 month plan for the newborn. It allows users to record prenatal information, track fetal growth, receive appointment reminders, and create a genetic family profile. This plan is offered for $64.95 USD/year.

Lifecycle Series for Pregnancy™
This is offered at $64.95/year, as is the Lifecycle Series for Diabetic Pregnancy™.

Health Management Series: Diabetes™
Dedicated to users with diabetes, this PHR allows data upload from home medical devices and other tools relevant to those with diabetes. The cost for this plan is $64.95 USD/year.

Family Plans
Health Records for the whole family are offered at the individual rate for the first member with a 5% discount for the 2nd member, 10% discount for the third, and 20% off any additional family members. With 3 members, one complimentary USB memory bracelet is included. With 4 or more, two memory bracelets are included. Additional bracelets will be offered at a discounted family rate.

Upcoming Plans

• Weight Management Plans will be offered at 3 months for $39.95 and one year for $119.95.
• Premier Plan $300/2years, this plan includes PHR upload service of up to 300 pages and an additional $4 per page beyond that. A USB wallet card or bracelet is included
• Concierge Plan $500/2 years, this plan includes all of the Premier options plus categorization of documents, company contact of users doctors and other providers to obtain records and digitize. This does not include any fees incurred for copying by healthcare providers’ offices.
• FAX/Scan/Upload Services are going to be offered at $1.50 per page with a minimum fee of $5 for 5 or fewer pages. There is an initial $20 fee as well as any fees incurred from providers, etc.
• Portable PHR devices: USB Bracelet for $19.95; USB Wallet Card $29.95; USB Necklace or Keychain $39.95.
