iHealthRecord by Medfusion
Pros: Medfusion will offer expansion of iHealthRecord
for patients.
Cons: The PHR is not currently active.
The Bottomline: Too little is known to make a definitive
decision about iHealthRecord at present. Based on MedFusion’s emphasis on
patient-provider communication, it will likely be a useful tool.

Summary:
MedFusion acquired iHealthRecord
in 2009 and during the process of updating and integrating the PHR, the
company was acquired by Intuit Health.

Features:
____________________________________________________________
Medfusion currently offers assistance to users in requesting appointments
with healthcare providers, filling out paperwork, checking in for appointments,
requesting prescription renewals, asking questions of healthcare providers
in a secure format, and conducting e-visits.
Based on the current solutions, it is likely that this PHR will feature
a patient portal for communication with a user’s doctor as well as the traditional
PHR sections for health records. Note that physicians must be a part of
the Medfusion Physician Network to utilize these tools.
While all of the transitions from one company to another are working things
out, no date has been set for the release of iHealthRecord or any new PHR
from Medfusion or Intuit.
