iPHER
Pros: iPHER is a small, portable USB device (the size
of a credit card) containing software for storing and maintaining medical
data. No Internet connection necessary for use. Data is encrypted on the
device. Large organization orders may add custom logos or names.
Cons: The iPHER appears to be offered to companies and
organizations rather than individuals. There is NO information on cost anywhere
on the website, nor are there screenshots of the software. The site information
appears to be directed at individuals, but there is no place on the site
with order or pricing options. The website also cuts off some of the information
at the bottom of pages.
The Bottomline: Without screenshots or samples, it is impossible
to evaluate the interface of iPHR. The device is completely portable and
compatible with Windows OS so that data should be accessible via any computer
using Windows.

Summary:
iPHER stands for individual Personal
Health Electronic Record – a small USB drive containing software necessary
for uploading and maintaining a user’s medical information. The portability
is a plus, as is the ability to personalize for businesses or organizations,
but with no pricing information for backup or screenshots for the individual,
the product is difficult to evaluate.

Features:
____________________________________________________________
Small and Portable
iPHER is the size of a credit card attached to a USB drive. The device can
easily fit into a purse or pocket so that users may take it to various medical
practitioners to share current medical information. This is also useful
when traveling and unable to seek treatment from regular providers.

Compatibility
iPHER is compatible with any computer running Windows software.
Data Entry
Records are entered manually (by typing) or by scanning images of the documents
and uploading to the device.
Security
iPHER is delivered in an “open” manner so that emergency personnel
and healthcare providers can easily access medical records. iPHRs can be
purchased with password protection or fingerprint ID. There are additional
charges for this feature, but they are not listed on the site.
Personalization
Companies and healthcare providers may purchase bulk quantities customized
with name and business logo.
