CrisisID
Pros: Instantly access your health information with CrisisID,
a useful resource in case of medical emergency. Prescription information,
medical treatment, doctors’ names, insurance providers, and emergency information
for families is all maintained in the secure, web-based program. The wallet
card provided to users alerts emergency personnel to your CrisisID account
so that they may access your records should a life-threatening emergency
prevent you from providing vital information. Access to information is accessible
via computer, internet capable mobile phone, or USB drive. There is a 45-day
free trial membership available.
Cons: CrisisID is a monthly service, requiring a paid subscription.
Rates range from $4/month for a single membership to over $6/month for up
to 6 family members (additional family members may be added for $1/member/month).
If lost, the wallet card could allow unauthorized access to user accounts.
This could add up over time to well over $100 per year for families.
The Bottomline: CrisisID provides an online personal health
recording tool for users worldwide. Files are password protected, but accessible
to emergency medical personnel. The 45 day trial period allows users to
decide whether to purchase the monthly subscription.

Summary:
CrisisID
is an online personal health record service that allows an individual to
enter health records to a secure online site. Similar to other PHRs, CrisisID
enables users to store healthcare records in a centralized location. With
its user friendly interface, CrisisID is a solution that will appeal to
even those who are techno-phobic.

Features:

Maintain health records safely: CrisisID allows users to easily
maintain prescription information, doctor appointments, treatment dates,
lists of insurance providers, and emergency contacts. All information is
stored safely in the online CrisisID account and is immediately accessible
with a double password system. Users have a “read only” password for access
to files but no editing privileges and an “Administrative Password” for
adding or editing information.
An easy to use yet highly useful tool: With CrisisID, users
can maintain up-to-date health information. This allows knowledgeable discussion
of medical conditions with healthcare providers; provides access to health
information during travel; and the ability to access medical information
outside of medical office hours. Information entry is mostly fill-in-the-blank,
as shown in the demo:

Maintain your family’s health with ease: CrisisID assimilates
the information that is provided by your health reports and suggests intelligent
educational material regarding illness and issues that you or your family
members may find useful.
In-depth User Information: There is a great deal of information
that can be uploaded in CrisisID. From general information and emergency
contact information to information that can allow a user to create his/her
own personal emergency card as well as print his/her own emergency medical
reports.
Personal Medical Emergency Cards: These may be printed
and kept in a wallet or purse to provide important information to first
responders during an emergency.

This card may be printed and folded.
Photo Support: In addition to being a good source for identification
in an emergency, the digital section of the PHR is a great place to keep
photos of children or older adults with dementia in case they need to be
located. Pictures can be very important in finding a lost child or Alzheimer’s
patient.
